The display above shows the current power frequency in UCTE. The display is updated every second and displayed as a curve. The axis representation adapts depending on the minimum and maximum frequency. In case of too much supply the frequency will increase, while in case of too much demand it will decrease. There is a mechanism for balancing out the deviation. The operating reserve in electricty networks generates further capacity to compensate the deficit or surplus of energy in the UCTE.

If there is a deviation of +/- 10mHz the operating reserve will set up in different grades and intensity.

PRIMARY CONTROL starts within seconds as a joint action of all parties involved (Deviation +/- 10mHz).

SECONDARY CONTROL replaces PRIMARY CONTROL over minutes and is put into action by the responsible parties / Transmission System Operator only (Deviation Deviation +/- 20mHz – +/-200mHz).

TERTIARY CONTROL partially complements and finally replaces SECONDARY CONTROL by rescheduling generation and is put into action by the responsible parties / Transmission System Operator.

TIME CONTROL corrects global TIME DEVIATIONS of the SYNCHRONOUS TIME in the long term as a joint action of all parties / Transmission System Operator.

The tolerance window is between 49.8Hz and 50.2Hz. All frequencies which exceed these values lead to a  more likely breakdown of the whole system. There will be a lot of consumers droppd to avoid the ultimative catatrophe. If this has no effect there will be moreover darkness in europe.
